winter flights

I know that this subject has been covered before, but I cannot find it, anyway I clicked on the link "cheap flights to Turkey" to get a quote for flights which came up at a good price[£159], however the flights were to Antalya & I need to get to Fethiye. Is Antalya the best option, & how then to get to Fethiye? I do not fancy driving. I will be going over in January, suggestions welcome.

Dave,

The only way into Dalaman through the winter is via Istanbul on Turkish airlines, quite an expesive option. If you dont fancy the drive from Antalya then catch the bus to Fethiye it takes about 4 hours and costs about £4 or take a private transfer, takes 3 hours and costs about £60.

Good Luck

I went to Fethiye last November, I flew to Antalyia, stayed the night in a local hotel, and drove to Fethiye, the drive was much easier then I thought, the roads were clear and very good.

The coach is a good idea though and it's cheap, the weather will start to get bad over the mountains over the next few weeks I think.

O.K thanks Rimms & Mushtaq, it looks as though Antalya is the best option, how frequent are the coaches?

We travelled to Fethiye last January to buy our property and we were lucky to be able to link with others and share the transfer costs. Where are you flying from? Advertise your dates of travel and flights and you may be able to share with someone.

We are trying the bus in February but if we can link up with anyone we may share.

Thanks a lot for that info. Rimms, it's good to know that they are frequent, so that the timing of the flight is not too crucial.

Teresa, I will be going over with my brother, as we will be purchasing jointly. Whereabouts did you advertise your travelling dates, was it on this site?
Cheers
Dave

Flights go from Heathrow or Manchester and he can either fly to Izmir or Istanbul-Bodrum, it won't be cheap though. He needs to look on Turkish Airlines website.
