Hi all,
I'm back after a few very hectic days in Turkey [8D], went with Marc (mbladen on the forum) working on a new joint venture, so watch this space
We went from London Heathrow to Izmir via Istanbul on Turkish Airlines, the cost was £257 each, The flight was very good, service great, plenty of leg room and comfortable leather seats.
The connection at Istanbul was quick, only about an hour, so not much hanging around.
Picked up the hire car at the airport (25 euro per day). The drive from Izmir to Akbuk was about an hour and half (Marc drives like a nutter) good thing I kept my eyes shut most of the drive
We arrived early evening on Saturday, it was pretty cold, got a cheap heater at Migros and got my hot water bottle and the quilt out, and got ready for a very cold night ahead, brrrrrrr
The next morning was bright and beutiful and I was greeted by the wonderful views of Akbuk

We then went to see the potential sites and spent the next two days driving around Akbuk looking at potential sites.
Went into Altinkum and the beach resort was deserted, no one about except for a few estate agents and the odd bar.
On Sunday night we dropped into the local Dog shelter meeting that was being held in a bar near dolphin square, was surprised to find the place packed with people, and looked as if the meeting was a huge success, they collected quite a bit of money too.
