hi
i rang them yesterday about this,
the lady assured me , ,
we were told there is mounting debts.
and that they hope the turkish cypriot goverment,will intervene ,
as there has been strikes on the cyprus side. .
but that some of them have not been paid since march..
im really worried as we have booked with them to fly to turkey and to cyprus in the summer

When I was searching for this story,I read-somewhere-that Pegasus airlines are in talks to buy 50% of the company.............if I can find again,I will post the link,unless someone else has read it and can post.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation Ministry letter dated June 21, 2010 pursuant to the Cyprus Turkish Airlines flights have been suspended until a second decision.
As of today, our company has already bought tickets to travel and to address the grievances of the passengers as we continue to work intensively. In this context, flights to Cyprus, which can carry passengers with other airlines are continuing our initiatives.

And so the people of the TRNC suffer on due to unfair embargo's and unrelenting european pressure.
It didn't help KTHY as for years all the expats in n.cyprus chose to buy cheap houses in the north and fly into the south...so much for country loyality.

i reads that they are grounding flights for 3 months
and that pegasus are going to take some of the flights already been booked..

im so [email protected]@sed off,when i spoke to that girl in the london office yesterday ,
so has anyone got any real idea? wtf is going on..!!!!!!
we mrant to be flying in 4 weeks.

You can fly direct to south Cyprus making it much quicker, and the flights are often cheaper too. So it stands to reason that people will choose to fly the most convenient and cheapest route surely.
