Remember this OF, all your documentation is in Turkish, once out of Turkey nobody can understand stand them anyway lol
Turkey, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, France, UK is the way we have always gone.
Can you remember what sort of cost it was for the Green card?

No I canít but if I remember rightly, it was far cheaper than I thought it would be.
Obviously you do that in Turkey, I also think you can ďshop aboutĒ for it, starting with your own insurance provider.
Itís a bit of a drag from Didim to the ferry (via Izmir), once you skirt Izmir itís uphill & down dale to the ferry port, daylight driving is suggested. Didim to that ferry takes about 6 hours......well it did for me but I donít hang about lol

Thanks, for myself it will have to be daytime driving as my night vision is fairly poor, so on unknown roads its a accident waiting to happen.

Re: Round trip to Turkey by Car

I have been looking on the Optima Express website. They run a rail car transporter from Villach in Austria to Edirne in North Turkey which takes 36 hours approx. It seems quite expensive but you would save on hotels and fuel. I've yet to find anybody who have used this route either single or return so the jury on this is out at the moment. They are not good at answering emails which is not a good sign!

Re: Round trip to Turkey by Car

Thanks for the useful info posted here. We are now looking at driving from Fethiye to England around July, we're a bit apprehensive about hanging around airports and boarding planes. We are just wondering why we need to get an MOT when we get to England. Why are you not legal if you have a Turkish MOT. xx

Re: Round trip to Turkey by Car

I have taken cars from Turkey to the UK and not needed a UK MOT. I think the confusion is that you need to get a MOT if you are going to register the car in the UK. can you take the missus too?

Good Luck that might be a nightmare journey with 14 day quarantine required in some countries also the EU is mulling over the idea of a COVID-19 Passports for entry into Europe and travel between different countries
