So before you even get anywhere you are contemplating how much you can claim back, would that be with or without a genuine grievance.
Insurance, we don't like it, but nowadays for most of us it is a necessity, 'just in case'
Yes back in the late 60s and 70 I travelled the world with no insurance, or I suppose that's not quite true because insurance in those days days seemed as if it was compulsory and built into the price anyway, even though I didn't see the point when I was fit and healthy, but times change and now I just go through the motions and use who seems to be the fairest cost for the cover they are giving, at least I think I look at the cover, buy maybe not, as long as it has at least basic medical or repatriation built-in, then that will do, so just pay up and stop it from spoiling your holiday.
But just remember, you get nothing for nothing.
