Akbuk to Fethiye

Hi, we are having a few days in Fethiye next month, and we are wondering which is the best/quickest route. We have been told by the bus company to go to Soke, then Aydin to catch the Pammukale bus to Fethiye, but we are going up, just to come back down again. Is it any better to go to Milas, onto Mugla and Fethiye. Advice and suggestions welcome. Thanks Sue xx

That's what we thought, but when I suggested it to the bloke at the bus station in Didim he looked at me as though I was daft and said "too many changes"... Don't think there is a direct bus to Milas though is there?? We would have to get off at the main road and pick up the Milas dolmus there. Thanks for the reply. Sue xx

From the dolmus park at Akbuk market straight to Milas park, ask the driver he will put you off at the autogar.

Hi Sue
I have done this route by Pamukkale, went to Soke from Didim Otogar, then to Adyin, In Aydin Otogar we bought ticket to Kas from the Pamukkale counter, very nice busses and a nice journey. The price from Aydin to Kas was about 35 lira.
Have a safe journey.

Hi Sue, if you were going to go by your private car i would recommend milas road which is quicker. but if you are going to go by bus then aydin route is better as there is no bus or minibus from didim to milas. even if you get there somehow i dont think there is direct bus to fethiye first you should get to mugla then after from there to fethiye with another bus. also when you are going to the aydin you dont have to go söke first, as you can get direct to aydin and from aydin direct to fethiye. less hassle for you. hope this helps, regards

Yes, getting from Aydin to Fethiye is straight forward, but as we are using the dolmus, we have to travel to Aydin from Akbuk in order to get there, so think Parrots way makes more sense, which means we will be heading south to Milas etc, as opposed to going north to Aydin first, but will keep an open mind. Thanks a lot. Sue xx

Hi Chris, yes, we will let you know how it goes, your route sounds ok, shame there isn't a direct bus from Milas to Didim. xx
