Our trip by train Dundee to Turkey

Dear All,

To any of you kind souls on here who have read my posts on trying to organise this trip, with or without my dog, and given advice (thank you all!) and listened to my many umming and aahhings about how i'm going to do it/visa issues/public transport issues etc. etc......................

I would just like to say a great big thanks, we are leaving Dundee on Friday, and to take the words out of Victor Meldrew's mouth "I can't believe it!"

As it's an educational trip for my daughter Poppy, and the dog is now not coming with us, as practicalities with coming back to visit my mother have superceded my plans somewhat, it allows us a lot more freedom.

For anyone who is interested in reading the blog of our journey, i've set up a website, not sure whether I can add the blog on here but here goes:

poppyandma | Our foodie journey from Scotland to Turkey by train.

We've already put a few posts on but obviously will get cracking once our journey commences.

Thanks so much for everyone's help and assistance!

Re: Our trip by train Dundee to Turkey

CrystalChris,

Apologies, but I just tried the link and it worked for me, perhaps try again??

Kingfisher, Thank you!

I should have mentioned we will be discussing food whereever we go, as it would be rude not to in Turkey, given all the wonderful possibilities.

Also, Poppy intends to be a chef when she's older and would like to learn some Turkish recipes, as well as Turkish en-route and we are both foodies and love to cook, although I find that it's nicer to have someone else cook, but it only seems to happen on holiday!

Aw thanks for your kind messages. Yes, now i've got my fantastic new camera there will hopefully be lots of interesting photo's to be added en-route. I have insisted Poppy does the Dalyan mud baths with me, despite the rotten eggy smell! Should be some good photo opportunities!

Thanks again.
