Re: Getting a motorcycle license?

Wow... what a lesson not to write any messages on here when I'm tired. Need to stay focused and not give anyone any small reason to attack me... oh and thanks for about 15 replies like that and not one bloody answer.... just awesome.

Yes you are all technically right, I can't "RIDE" a bike "PERFECTLY", if you want to say that then no one can... The reason I can ride a bike is because I learned in Thailand where I used to live. And where it costs 300 euros to get a license but only 10 euros fine if the police stop you without one. All I meant by what I said was I don't need to take any lessons, I just need to pass the test.

So if anyone wants to actually help instead of just commenting on my poor choice of words, it would be appreciated.

Re: Getting a motorcycle license?

Well you say you cant ride a bike perfectly. Are you aware of the Turkish bike test?

You have to speed up a ramp and make it over 12 parked dolmuses whilst accompanied on the bike by 2 kids a bedstead and an ugly looking fat woman whos sitting side saddle eating figs.

Smoking a fag and texting on a mobile at the same time... with a gas bottle and 25 litres of water between yer legs , you will also need to develop the compulsory leer which must be delivered to furrin looking ladies at every opportunity.

Re: Getting a motorcycle license?

Noz03, being able to ride a bike is just a small part of the test. As I said before I can't answer for Turkey but I assume you must show at least a modicum of road knowledge and rules. Im sure you can "handle" a bike with far more skill than is needed.
On a side note, I know quite a few ACU motorcycle racers in the UK who have unbelievable bike skills but can't pass the UK test

Re: Getting a motorcycle license?

Noz03 you will be able to take the test, which comes in two parts, the written and the "riding". Go to your local traffic police to find out how and where.

I know what you mean but I was trained in mayhem in vietnam

But no seriously... How could I get this license in Turkey? Is there some compulsory driving course I need to take, or do I just have to pass the test? And if its just a test how do I sign up to take it? Will it be in English or how do I handle the language problem? Also I assume there is a separate test for bikes than cars? I looked online but there seems to be no information at all

Re: Getting a motorcycle license?

The language problem is solved by you taking a person with you to translate.

Re: Getting a motorcycle license?

I agree in part with what Kev and the others say, but I had a motor bike for 3 years, rod to Didim on it and used to ride to Central London every day, and have only had 2 accidents, both caused by other road users (Car drivers) even though I has all the bright Orange Hi clothing on and my Leathers which stopped me from being seriously injured.
Now my Bikes a right off, and have to use the company Car which takes me 45 minutes extra each way to work each way.

If Noz03 was to take lessons and takes it easy, why not get himself a little run around.
Hell probably have as much chance getting knocked of his push bike as he would on his Motor Bike.
Noz03 happy riding.

Re: Getting a motorcycle license?

i fight shy of my experience on a bike since 57 . The one i ride now is 1400cc and weighs in at near 600 lbs . And that is the trouble . I have fallen off 50cc bikes [fizzy ] & just had the odd scratch and bruise /ridden every day to London with no helmet long before helmet laws came in on my GS vespa . But i still take nothing for granted on a bike [especially a big heavy bike] I dont wantthat landing on top of me ,so take it easy .
