Cost of driving to UK and back again.
Can anyone enlighten me to the approximate cost of driving from Mugla to Lancashire? I understand quite a few toll roads are involved as well as the fuel costs.
Thanks.

Re: Cost of driving to UK and back again.
Not the routes you want but might be handy, until someone posts a more up-todate figure.
This is a couple of years old now but:-
Total Costs = £326.12
inc: Toll £28.50 | Petrol £274.28 | Road tax £23.34
Time = 39h 27m of which 24h on motorways
Distance = 2252 mi, of which 1669 mi on motorways
Route = Birmingham UK - Dover - France - Belgium - Netherlands - Germany - Austria - Sloveia - Croatia - Serbia - Bulgaria - Turkey, "ferry at Eceabat to Çanakkale" - Didim.
(Dover to Calais try Dover to Dunkirk, quieter port & a lot cheaper)
****************
Or this one from 1 July 2010 = 4 days
Total cost was roughly £500
Diesel £183,
Channel ferry about 1 hour £75 not booked in advance,
French tolls £41,
Swiss roads £26,
Italian tolls £44 +
Brindisi to Igoumenitsa ferry £75 about 8 hours (163 Miles),
Greece, onto to Ipsala -
Turkish toll 10TL.

Re: Cost of driving to UK and back again.
A friend of mine in Dalyan is going back to UK and has asked me to drive over with their stuff then I would return here with the van. I am not sure it is cost effective because they are not taking a great deal with them.

Re: Cost of driving to UK and back again.
There are obviously a few other organisations, but I came across this one just the other day (recommended/suggested) and don't forget drivers are always looking for 'back-hauls' so nothing ventured etc........

But the double bed, 42" TV and some other stuff would mean very big excess bags plus chloroform for the dog.
