jet2

has anyone travelled with jet2 needing assistance. i had a stroke just over3 months ago and although i am walking with a stick i cant walk long distances or climb many steps. we are keen to go but i'm not sure if i can manage especially if there are steps up to the plane. i know i can request assistance but it looks more like for people in a wheelchair. i will be travelling from glasgow to dalaman. any advice appreciated

Re: jet2

You don't have to be permanently wheelchair bound to request assistance. If you have difficulty climbing steps and walking long distances which you frequently have to in airports, then temporary use of a wheelchair is the way to go.

Re: jet2

We used to get a wheelchair for my grandfather when we travelled, although he did not use one in his day to day life. He had copd and the assistance we got was fantastic. I don't know about jet2s policy, but let them know and I'm sure they'll be helpful. Happy holidays!

Re: jet2

Flew out with them from Manchester - though they were clearly overworked and were reading from the script (weighed the hand baggage, etc.) they were actually very helpful - I am sure they will do what's needed but it always helps to notify in advance on these things, especially if the disability isn't immediately apparent. If you have some documentation (doctor's letter or similar) sure will be fine.

Apparently acalling them is standard rates - Jet2.com Reduces Customer Service Call Charges | Jet2.com

Re: jet2

It won't be necessary to provide a Doctor's letter to obtain wheelchair assistance. Check out the following link for your airport of departure. It will advise what you are required to do.
