electrical items on flights

Hi All,

we were hoping to take a playstation with us to leave in our apartment, when we travel over to Bodrum at the end of August.
In light of the recent security issues regarding mobile phones, ipods etc, we were uncertain if we could pack the playstation in our hold luggage. we are flying with Easyjet, have tried to contact customer services, but having problems receiving a reply.
wondered if anybody may have any advice.

Thanks
harvey

Re: electrical items on flights

Hi,
We just returned from Turkey and I put my laptop in the hold luggage with no problems. Probably a bit of a risk if my case went missing, but it made it safely both ways.

Re: electrical items on flights

With the exception of batteries because they are made of a corrosive material they are not allowed to be in hold baggage but you can put 'almost' anything and everything else you want in your hold baggage including knives and any other sharps which are not allowed in hand luggage.

Although 'certain' batteries are not allowed in your hand luggage.

The point of the likes of mobile phones, computers or/and camcorders etc being checked is to make sure they are not filled with explosives which could be detonated by the objects internal battery.

Spare batteries for computers or mobile phones etc are also allowed in your hand luggage but should be wrapped individually so that the contacts can't touch anything and create a short which could also cause a explosion.

Tip:
With hold luggage with zips that can still be moved even when a lock is attached, make sure to also secure the lock so that it will not move, to stop zips being opened and then very easily locked again by sliding the lock along the open zip. (see youtube for more information)
