Flying London to Bodrum - Best airport.

Hi folks,

We are going to a concert in o2 Arena London on 1st June next. Looking to travel on wards to Bodrum next day. Have decent Ryanair return fares from Dublin to London, but just wondering what is best airport to fly from London to Bodrum? I want to exclude Heathrow as that place is a nightmare. Thanks!

Re: Flying London to Bodrum - Best airport.

You have a choice from Gatwick, Stansted and Luton all of which are within 30 minutes from the centre of London.

Easyjet fly from all three twice or three times a week but not sure of the days.

That's a brilliant idea Mag, going to a concert in London and then on to Bodrum the next day! There are so many shows to see in London and this is a great way to save oneself from sitting around the airport for hours on end....Thanks for the idea, I think it will catch on now that there are no direct flights from Cork any more.

Re: Flying London to Bodrum - Best airport.

should make Gatwick from the o2 ( traffic permitting ) in 1.5 hours easy (driving ) up the A2 up the M25 ,onto M23 .Bobs her uncle .I would not even consider driving through Black wall tnnl to Gatwick ,even though the 02 is right beside it .

Re: Flying London to Bodrum - Best airport.

Hi Samimi

Good news on all fronts.....the Newlands Cross flyover was completed 4 months ahead of schedule and opened on Wednesday......you can now drive from Hillsborough just outside Belfast to Cork without encountering a set of traffic lights.

Will make a big difference getting to Dublin Airport from Cork direction.....just wish they could improve the M50 Carpark.

Must say....I do like the notion of enjoying a show or stop over in London before hitting Bodrum.

Re: Flying London to Bodrum - Best airport.

Ok...just booked Dublin to London one way with Cityjet for €35 each with 23kg hold luggage included. Gatwick to Bodrum with Turkish Airlines for €220 each and return from Gatwick to Dublin for € 65 each with Aer Lingus. Great flight times. Suits us as we have to travel via the UK this time. Taking in a concert in London and a few hours sightseeing so little mini break included. Overal total cost including 1 night hotel in London much the same as flying direct from Dublin.
