Turkish Visa Scam

Fethiye Times is running a piece on on-line visa scam which can cost you a lot of money.

Extract: "...visitors to Turkey need a visa to enter and exit the country. For most tourists the visa they will need will be a Turkish Tourist Visa and they are available to buy on line."

"...clicking the first link you see could find you hundreds of pounds out of pocket..."

Re: Visa Scam

Thanks, will send this off to our son who is coming over for three nights in October. Is it still possible to get the visa at the airport on arrival, like in the old days ?

The exact cost may vary on a day-today basis because it's based on the $ (Dollar) plus a $1 admin fee plus your own banks charge for excepting and changing the transaction into sterling, mine cost a total of 15.45,
sometimes what is not evident is/was the charge was broken down into three transactions on my statement, so for people who maybe don't check very closely if at all the actual charge may go unnoticed.

You will have to wait until an immigration officer is free to serve you.
