Turkish Reg Plates

Hi Guys some advice please,today I bought a Ford Connect from a Turkish Freind,done all the Notary bit Today..do I just take the plates to Aydin or the car ..also what are the costs in changing to M plate..if someone has recently done this..TIA.....

I done mine in Aydin, you will need a Turk with you unless you are fluent in the lingo, I was there for about an hour. I cant for the life of me remember who actually issued the plate though, it was a new car & the garage popped up with them. POA to do it using a Turkish friend makes it easier.

Yes Spurs. Did yhe same before with a new car 7 years ago.then i did a swap with that vehicle for a jeep.plus cash in my pocket.both cars were MA plates 10 months ago. so pretty straight forward all done in Kusadasi.so buying a Turkish reg plate car is new to me..

Just a suggestion, but what about the guy who you had the car from, cant he sort it with you?

last time we did it we paid a 'komisiyoncu, or takipci' (you will find one at the car insurance offices) he took 50TL to do all the running around. I went off did my shopping and had lunch, he called me when the plates were ready and I bought the insurance through him too. It took about 2 hours. Note, we have just paid the compulsory insurance on one of our cars and there had been a big hike this year, Rumours of another one to follow in February. Good luck

....... yes Ibrahimabi ..more or less been told the same from someone who has just done similar ..45 tl takes about 30 minutes for the new plates, copies of all documents concerned..thanks guys for all your help..much appreciated..ps ..this must be done within 30 days from purchase of vehicle

in an ideal world Spurs ..he owns a couple of restaurants here ..it was bad enough to get him out today to the notary..let alone Aydin..lol
