Advice connecring at seb gök istanbul

Hi

I'm sure many of you do this all the time ,me never at seb gök airport with pegausus.
So when we arrive we naturally dart the airport ,is it then signpopted to stay airside to await our connecting flight to dalaman?

Any advice truly great full as we have 1.5hours from landing to de0arting again .

Do we stay airside for connecting flights .
Do we have to go back through security eg liquids etc ?

Tia

Re: Advice connecring at seb gök istanbul

Done it many times - even when there was only 40 mins between the flight connections. It can be a bit tight on time - especially when the inbound flight is late! However it does run smoothly if you keep calm!
You will arrive from the UK at the international terminal where you will have to proceed to passport control and get your passport stamped for entering Turkey (even though you are going onward on a domestic flight). There can be quite long queues there.
You will then head towards the Exit signs of the international terminal, past the baggage reclaim, but not leaving the actual building into open air, and proceed to the domestic terminal for your internal flight. It is in the same building accessed via stairs/escalator etc and is signposted. Your hold luggage will have been tagged for onward journey to Dalaman so no problems having to collect it at SG.
You do have to go through security again at domestic terminal so be prepared for the scanners, liquid rules etc. However if buying duty free at Stansted they will put it in sealable customs bags and attach the receipts. These cannot be opened until you are back on Turkish soil!
On arrival at Dalaman you have to clear your baggage through customs and previously were bussed from domestic to international to do this, but as the domestic terminal is knocked down and being rebuilt all traffic goes through the one building so no need for the transfer.
As I said earlier, it can be tight on time and there are occasions where the inbound aircraft has been known to be late and people have missed the flight. They either put you in a hotel (if its overnight) or our friends were put in a VIP lounge on one occasion. However the vast majority of times it runs smoothly. Enjoy the trip and the experience of Sabiha Gokcen and Pegasus!!!!
