Re: Moving personal items from TRNC to Fethiye area.

Thank you all so much for your replies. Laura, can you send me details of that company please, I will see if they will also do it the other way, if Ibrahim is right, then at least it's yet another company to cross off, thanks Lady of leisure, we haven't heard of that TRNC company so will check that out too. xx

That's an interesting thought, certainly worth bearing in mind, thank you. xx

Oh I didn't know that Ibrahim.

There is actually someone coming from Ovacik who is asking about that Kanga so maybe there is a deal to be done!

Sorry Sue just saw your post. It was MNG kargo. They have an office in Lefkoşa.....I know as I had to go there to get the paperwork for the gumruk.

Might be worth checking out the cost of "unaccompanied baggage" wıth whichever airline you are travellıng with.

I have used this method before and found it can be cheaper than cargo companies.

Really ? I haven't heard of this. A company came round today, and said there is an awful lot of paperwork involved due to the attempted coup a few years ago. I was beginning to think we may have to take it over ourselves bit by bit. But, thanks for that Spike, yet another option to check out. xx

Re: Moving personal items from TRNC to Fethiye area.

Well, just an update. We have finally got to the route of the problem taking stuff into Turkey. Apparently it's down to customs. A company may get it there, but we may not be able to retrieve it from customs, since the attempted coup they have not made it easy to send stuff through customs. We just happened to be in the travel agents booking our flights over, we head back 27th Oct, and we told him about our dilemma, and he said it would be easier ( less complicated) if we took it as excess luggage, and costed out a mega amount of luggage, and at 10 tl per kilo it was alot cheaper than imagined. So it looks like we are going to have to do a couple of trips. xx

Excellent. Well done you. It's strange how help comes often from unexpected places. Anyway glad it's all sorted.
