They are good if you are living in the UK and your starting your trip from the UK and you will be returning to the UK after your trip has finished, they are next to useless if you are living in another country or starting your trip from that country and returning to that country when your trip has finished

Just out of curiosity if we do start our trip and finish it from the Uk, despite living in Turkey, would we be eligible ? We have never looked into this as we assumed we wouldn't. xx

I don't really know but I suspect you would require to submit a uk postal address.

I just checked my own uk travel insurance and it has my address on it so they must have asked for it.

Re: Help .... Travel insurance needed.

At the end of an insurance declaration it’s usual to ask if your replies are true to the best of your knowledge, I would be careful Sue even if you have a UK Address.

I suspect not most UK insurance has this sort of wording in their policy

For the purposes of our policies, a UK resident is defined as a person who has their main home in the United Kingdom, who is registered with a medical practitioner in the UK, and who has been resident in the UK for 6 months out of the last 12.

I think you will have more luck if you do a google search for
non-uk-residents travel insurance

Re: Help .... Travel insurance needed.

We do have insurance now with World Nomad, but was interested in other options, I'm very aware insurance companies will do their best to get out of claim if they can, so wouldn't knowingly do something to undermine that, I like to make sure everythiing is done by the book, I couldn't think of anything worse than being stuck in a foreign country not being able to pay a big hospital bill. Thanks for all your replies, muchly appreciated. xx
