Who told you a basic duster costs 60,000 ?

Martin

I have a private pension I took out when I was 18 that matures this year?

I was going to let it ride till I needed it

Private pensions don't mature as such but become accessible at a certain age, that may help your cause.

https://www.hyundai.com/tr/tr the price list should be on this site somewhere

Re: UK Certificate of retirement????

Chasey,
Would a uk car work, if you went in twice a year for 90 days each. With four gentle drives to the uk and back that would eat up another month. A couple of nice holidays elsewhere and your down to two to three months in Blighty.

This is the current price list Sue, I have the prestige diesel 4x4, had it from new, easy to drive and Linsey always uses it before hers for some reason.

Martin
Ours isn't as posh as yours, Martin; it sounds lovely. Maybe Linsey should swop hers for a Duster too! I put my struggle down to my 5' 3" height. I'm going to get a little stool so I can get in and out. xx

And critically 7 seats

This was the highest-rated 7seater I could afford at UK prices but not at Turkish prices

We considered driving out end of December then back end of June to do the six months

Then fly out in September 1st fly back in October 30th renting a car, repeat in December

That's the full 6 months I think is acceptable and 6 months out of the country for the car

Work in progress

Re: UK Certificate of retirement????

The problem with the driving is that another lockdown could prove disastrous with differing regs in each country. If Turkey closed down when you are due to leave it could prove to be difficult and expensive. I know that they allowed tourists to overstay when visas were due to expire but I cannot see that being transferred to cars. It did not apply to the 6 months driving on a foreign licence situation.

We do not want to see you in this situation
