Thanks for that. I'm sorry to hear about it though as XL is my airline of choice. I have used them many times and this year they were coming up with the best prices and more importantly civilised flight times from my local airport. For me their cabin staff have always been the most efficient and polite. I couldn't book them for my next trip as they were fully booked throughout September. I hope they don't cease trading.

They may not cease trading. The issue is continuity of funding. If they can get it they may be fine. If they cannot then they may either cease to trade ,or less likely be taken over.

I think anyone not reserving through a main stream big blue chip needs to be a little more careful. People have heard about the effect of reducing funding for mortgages etc ,but probably do not understand that this is also being applied to commercial lending. At a time when the fundamentals of trading are getting increasingly more difficult this is bound to send some of the less well funded companies to the wall. This issue with XL may be just one of many we have yet to even hear about.

As long as they keep flying for at least another week.I'm booked to go with them monday week.Have used them a lot in the past and is one of my favourite airlines to fly with.
