Re: Residence permits

Not exactly encouraging people to obtain resident permits rather than the tourist visa are they?

Re: Residence permits

..definatley a rip-off £740 for both of us ,we got hem for 2 years thats why we have decided to go to bulgaria for the first time next year(just on the turkish border) and rent for a few months in the winter then drive back and forth when it suits us ..i know many people here who are doing this....and they say the residence permits are reciprocal with the uk ..what a load of tosh...the only regret i have is not getting the 5 year residency permits 6 years ago when we moved here ..oh well live and learn

Re: Residence permits

A friend of mine who has been here for over 4 years and buying residency permits for herself and her children, recently discovered that she had been paying for one of her children's residency permit when she didn't need to!!!

Provided the child is of school age (not Nursery) and attending a Turkish school (which she has been for over 3 years) there is nor requirement for a residency permit. All is required is you obtain a form from the school ( dont know which one exactly but I'm sure if you ask they will) and present it at Aydin.

When she went to Aydin they never told her ( but knew that the child was of school age (Date of Birth!).

This time when she challenged them (at Aydin) saying " You knew I didn't need to pay this, so why did you let me? and where do I get a refund? they just laughed........what else are we paying for that we shouldnt be?

Re: Residence permits

This has been covered on this forum before , a child in school still has a residence permit ,I believe you have to pay for the book .The form from the school is called "Hattinza Hemen Yeni Birnumara Verelim " and is signed by the school .Mike.

Re: Residence permits

Thanks for that, ours are due on the 8th August, wish we'd got a longer one last year, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Problem - do we go for a yearly one and hope that they don't go up, go for a longer one and be livid if the cost reduces or change to German so we hardly pay anything. Decisions, decisions.
