Re: eating out

Try Kais below A101 supermarket on Side Bulvari, for something Turkish Sercan Usta opposite Petrol Ofisi (was the Opet) on Kemer Bulvari (don't be put off by the lino on the tables!!!), Apollonik in the old town is good and you don't get ripped off or hassled.

Re: eating out

Of the places you mention, the Allaturka is closed, but looks to be getting ready to open soon. Only the Korner Bar is open in the immediate locality. Kosem (I assume you mean the one next to the Sultan Ay) is open on the main road but the larger premises around the corner have been cleared, ready to be laid out as a garden. The owner was confident of being fully open in about a week although there looked to be a great deal of work to be done. Koreli is open, as is The Crown (ex Irish Bar), Flying Horse and Red Lion. None looked busy (the Red Lion was particularly dead) although Meshur 49 was doing a good trade. The best meals we've had lately have been at the Cihan. It's worth the trek.

Although we now have blue sky and sunlight it is still cold enough to require a jacket during the day, so there would be no point in any of the open-air restaurants opening at present.

Re: eating out

Cihan, along the road towards the coast from the Anadolu Hospital is ok. If you try KAYI, on the opposite side of the same road a little more towards the coast road you won't be disappointed.
They opened last Autumn and have been consistently busy all winter. The food is excellent and the prices are fine. We've used them quite a lot.

Durum Dunyası (Serkan Üsta) opposite what was the Opet station (Now PO) the other side of the hospital is also really good, especially if you enjoy meze as they bring about 12 or 15 little starters to enjoy whilst they cook your meat.

Afiyet Olsun!

Re: eating out

There is only one genuine Cihan but its reputation has spawned several imitators who have quite shamelessly copied the name, logo and green/yellow colour scheme. The real one is on Side Bulvari, next to the Hanay Hotel.

Re: eating out

I think Cihan is good value for money, I have also enjoyed a meal at Uğurs (big green sign on the corner across from the Anadolu I think) lately.
