Bodrum Airport

It was only a matter of time and on Sunday morning that time arrived for me. After checking in at Bodrum Airport I discovered that Security were now confiscating any personal Soft Drinks that passengers were attempting to take through to the Departure Lounge. IMO the heating was also turned up a notch in the Departure Lounge which obviously necessitated me having to purchase 2 Cans of Fanta and a Small Bottle of Water, for my 2 Grankids, from the Kiosk...................................at a cost of 11.50.

Not having my reading glasses readily available I had to decline the offer of filling in an Airport Passenger Survey Form as I know what would have been mentioned IN BOLD. It is worse than Scandalous.

Re: Bodrum Airport

When I flew back last Monday I was charged 3 Euro for half a glass of sparkling water, about 4 sips worth. Total rip off . On the plane i only paid 1.50 for a large can of sparkling water. And yes why is Bodrum Airport always really hot?

Re: Bodrum Airport

Afraid so this happend to us they confiscated my soft drinks also which resulted in us having to buy on the plane. I was shocked as this had never happened before either. I did not take any food so I wonder if this would have applied as well.

Re: Bodrum Airport

Yes Bodrum Airport Security are enforcing the NO water/drinks etc over 100 ml this year, our agent at the Airport told us that last year they were lax with this, but definitely doing so this season. One of our passengers bought Vodka at 16 for two bottles on their outward journey in MCR Airport, didn't pack it in their suitcase... Doh. and had it confiscated going through Hand Luggage security. How annoying, and I bet they won't be doing that again.

Re: Bodrum Airport

I took no food thnking about getting a sandwich on the flight. The flight did not have any food, just crisps and snacks, no hot food or sarnie's. I was starving, did not eat all day, lol. I saw other people on the flight eating sandwiches etc they had clearly made themselves and bought to the Airport with them.

Once we got the hang of Bodrum airport, we take loads of drink just before we go in ,and make sure we have eaten . We have never needed to eat there and never will.

Re: Bodrum Airport

Does anyone know why the prices are so high in Turkish airports, they seem excessive to me.

Re: Bodrum Airport

They are very expensive. Gatwick is cheaper, I had a meal there before flight out and it was much cheaper than Bodrum for sure. Do not get it.

That is why I mentioned the heating being turned up a notch Pete, I also had 2 young grankids in tow and we were also delayed 2 hours. In my humble opinion it is bordering on criminality Bud, if they had said 51.50 I would have paid it and I obviously hope nobody from that hellhole is reading or it will be 51.50 the next time I visit - and hotter.
