Delayed again
Hi,just seen article in Voices online that says that the bill that had been presented to parliament has now been sent back again for another look.

Dont really understand the reason given but it does seem to be dragging on a bit!

Re: Delayed again
I found an interesting note from Berk Çektır in his column in 'New Zaman' today.
The article is about registering property under the name of a company but he makes a comment about the suspended foreign purchasers law and states:
''One should note that the government is unlikely to change the law in a way which enables foreigners to acquire properties directly as Turkish citizens can. I personally think that the military clearance requirement will be in effect for a long time to come.''
This is his personal opinion but obviously has good reasons for making this assumption.
Looks like it will continue to be a long and winding road even after the amendments have been enacted.

Re: Delayed again
I think he was referring specifically to Military Zones rather than 'normal' property.

Re: Delayed again
Thanks Dalaman Deli, great to hear of another turkish newspaper with a real expert writing on Turkish law. He says the temporary hold on foreigners buying land and property will be sorted in July.

Re: Delayed again
Until I see it in 'Black & White', from an Official source, it's all just , hype & wishful thinking
It's all gone Very quiet, none of the nationals are reporting on it, I am very anxious........... It's just TOO much strain, for those of us with our money already tied up in Turkish Property, without our Tapu's & various other problems

Re: Delayed again
We're not worried. This is Turkey, beurocracy reins! I'm sure they won't want to miss out on the millions us europeans (and americans) pour into the economy with our property purchases. Of course it will take a bit of time to sort out, its a big issue for them - and they're all about to go on thier summer hols!
