A Normal Tapu ?
Does anyone know whether it is normal to have a tapu that just states the name of the person you have bought the property from and not necessarily the address ? That is what is on our tapu which we have just had through and we wondered if it is the norm ?
Thanks
Ruk

Re: A Normal Tapu ?
Do you mean the property address or the seller's address?
I think a lot of them just have the seller's name and father's name not their address.

It just has the seller's name and his father's name. In terms of getting it registered at the Belediye-what question would we need to ask to get the Turkish address of our property ?

Re: A Normal Tapu ?
your property address usually just the location and plot number, not a street address as such.

If you've got an old electricity bill have a look at that.
It should have the postal address on.

Re: A Normal Tapu ?
hi Ruk,
Our tapu doesn't have the postal address on. In the section "Edinme Sebebi", under the name of the vendor and her father's name, it states the area of the land and which blok, also dubleks (house). Higher up on the form, it has parsel no of the land (arsa) and the total sq m of the complex. Surely there should be something on your tapu to identify where / what you have bought?
We had 3 versions of our postal address from old utility bills and emlak's sale agreement. We gave them all to the woman who opened our bank account for us, and she figured it out for us! I'm sure the belediye will be able to tell you from the info you have (just point to your house and let them figure it out!!)
hope all goes well when you visit your new home, have a great time.

Re: A Normal Tapu ?
Thanks everyone for your help. We fly out tomorrow and we will go to the Belediye and point to the right spot !!! we will let you know if it works...it's funny how in England we get so hung up about things like knowing the address of the property....in Turkey..the most important thing is that people know it is your house in the village....but I guess I would also like to get some post occasionally !

don't hold your breath, the postal system is not too reliable there, do a search on the forum.
