Tapu Cost.
I have just been informed that the Tapu is ready to transfer into my name. The cost for this is 2000 euros. Is there a charge? If so does this sound correct.

Bloody hell thats a lot
We havent had to pay anything but all our legal costs were in the original purchase contract so unsure but thats some price just for a transfer.
I think this has been discussed before Jane, try the archives.
Best of luck

Re: Tapu Cost.
Hi Jane,
It is normally the "property tax" that needs paying when the TAPU gets transfered into your name. This is 3% of the value of the property as stated on the TAPU and the 3% charge is normally split between buyer and seller.

Re: Tapu Cost.
My house was a re-sale and not a new build. Does this make a difference?

Re: Tapu Cost.
No, property tax is payable irrespective of new build or resale (assuming of course this what you've been asked for).

Re: Tapu Cost.
But this is nothing to do with property tax, it simply just the cost to transfer the Tapu into my name.
