Cost of Deeds
Hi everyone!
Have just heard from our friends that, owing to "new legislation", their developer is demanding £1000 to hand over the deeds for their apartment which cost about £55K. Does anyone know anything about any new legislation relating to this?

Re: Cost of Deeds
Hi Nicholas, Pennie here. Just recieved our Tapu's last week. Our villa £120K when we bought it and was told it would cost around £2K tax and registration. Ending up costing over £4K. Nothing we could do except pay but were not happy. Lots of pocket money for the local officials!!!!!!

Re: Cost of Deeds
Pennie, can you let us know why you are using Hasans name here, its very confusing as the signature also states "work for argos homes" this company no longer exists

Re: Cost of Deeds
£4k is ridiculous just for a Tapu.
We paid all our legal costs in with the price of our apartment and on a £48k apt it came to about £1000.
We have been told by our agents there is no more to pay.
Can the senior members of the forum help out and tell us whats going on

Re: Cost of Deeds
Hi Lorraine
Can you have a quick look at the "cost of deeds" thread re Tapu charges and see if a new problem is developing here as like so many others we have paid all legal costs etc in with the original contract and purchase price of the property.
We think there is a panic developing as £1000 on top for the Tapu on a £54k property is mad
thanks

I think we need to know what new legislation they are talking about, the recent legislation has not meant any huge increase in prices

Fethiye region is approx £450 for the registration (I have just paid this) and then it will be the registration of the property tax 0.5% plus registration of water and electricity (fethiye) approx £90 , notor fees already paid 140TL (yes they know how to make money) there is a tax nicknamed here as marina/maps £400 So far £1000 does appear to be about right for Fethiye.
Now Dalyan Dalaman and Koycegiz they DO know how to turn the money machine on at the moment. Our friends have just had an almighty row with the council and the cost of registering went from £800 down to £500 (It could be to shut her up, but it worked) she wanted a break down of all charges and stated she was going to the prosecutor to check.

So this £1000 is in with our total legal costs, agents fees and purchase price as we were told we had paid it all and its in our contract.
Sorry just a bit confused as presumably the Tapu charge is in with the legal costs
