Re: Habitation Certificate/Building Use Document
Alan was a little man and stood just 5" 2
He was 51 with greying hair & stunning eyes of blue.
His helpfull deeds to his forum mates
and some bad post of which he hates
He'll go out of his way to help us all
Such a pity he's just five two tall.
Now Al wasn't from the big smoke
he's a Sheffield guy a lovely bloke
between the 2 of us we like a good joke
And take the micky out of every folk.
Thanks Al for all youv'e done
Now try and write a better pun.
Catch yer later
Andy

Re: Habitation Certificate/Building Use Document
Our Agent has told us he has our Iskan, which we will pick up in a couple of weeks. We have been told by the Agent this is the final Tapu which we paid £300 for, (we received our Tapu Senedi in 2004) and it has been explained that this is what the builder obtains when the whole building and grounds are complete, and registered with the local council who then issue an Iskan for each individual owner. I assumed this would be the Habitation Certificate, but having sent a copy of the one so kindly translated by Alan to another owner who has just picked up theirs, they said it is nothing like it. The document they have just looks like another Tapu, but with some different wording. Does anyone know if this is OK? As far as we know that will be our final documentation.

Re: Habitation Certificate/Building Use Document
I'm the owner who asked Alan to translate the Use of Building certificate. Many thanks, Alan.
We bought our house (a resale) in 2003. The complex is about 8 years old and the co-operative is due to be wound up this summer.
The agent who sold us the house gave me the photocopied Use of Building Certificate in response to my request for the Habitation Certificate. She told me it was the habitation certificate. I started another thread asking whether the Use of Building certificate serves the same purpose as the Habitation Certificate but there were no replies to the thread.
I have seen many references to the Habitation Certificate on TLF, but don't recall seeing any reference to the Use of Building Certificate. I got the impression from posts about the Habitation Certificate that you couldn't sell your property without it, yet it is not mentioned on the British Consultate website about buying property in Turkey. They do, however, say that you should have your Use of Building Certificate when selling your property.
Perhaps the Habitation Certificate is only issued for new builds?? Perhaps it is only issued after the Co-operative has been dissolved?? Does anyone on TLF know the answer?

Re: Habitation Certificate/Building Use Document
Having waited a year and promised by the builder the Hab.Cert.would be through last December,is it possible to go to the council and get it processed, obviously an interpretor would be required, but can it be done.I know there are forms to fill in,as we done this for the builder last year and I know we need tapu and passport copies and I have a tax number if required.

Re: Habitation Certificate/Building Use Document
Has anyone heard that if the Ferdi Iskan (Habitation Certificate) is not issued within 4 years of the date on the Yapi Kulanma (Building Use Document) then you have to go through the whole process all over again, i.e. re-applying for building use and having new surveys, etc.
Maria.
