tapu/wrong address
We have at last got our Tapu a copy of which has been faxed to us by our agents.
Unfortunately as we are in a complex of 32 apartments we all have individual apartment and block numbers and we are in block A1 apartment 1 from what our signs say and this is also on the sales receipts.
The Tapu says Block B 2nd floor apartment 3 which is incorrect and has to be amended but it is the same complex and main address so we do own a part of it albeit the wrong apartment.
How serious is this error and how long would it take to get amended?
Having waited 12 months for the Tapu we dont want another 12 month delay.
Is it worthless as it is or does it at least say we own part of the complex?

Re: tapu/wrong address
Terry & Susan,
I would get it sorted because should you ever decide to sell any potential buyer would expect the details to be correct.
Not much help to you, but the site no. on our tapu is not the same as the actual number on our house. We checked it out and discovered that the tapu is correct - the builder just used a different numbering system on the houses.
Maria.

This happened to us also, since it was an Aparthotel orginally the number was the hotel room number. The system was made simpler ie 1,2, 3 ect but our TAPU does state what area and location the apartment is with the building. Ours was also returned for a different reason and from what we were told it just went back on the pile to be check in Izmer it recieved no special attention just because of a minor error.

You mean we may wait another 12 months before its legally ours having paid all the purchase price?
Perhaps as Maria said the Tapu is correct but the builder changed the numbering system. It clearly says Block B floor 2 apartment 3 though and ours at the complex is numbered apartment 1 on the ground floor of A1 block

Re: tapu/wrong address
I understand it must be a worrying thing this situation for you, but not wanting to point fingers at anyone and as I see it all TAPU offices do things differently. As yet you may not have the full facts of this "Cock Up" As I see it, when I went to collect my TAPU (Alanya) I did so in person. The Turkish Translator present explained every detail that was on the document and asking us to confirm we understood. Only then did we sign the document for the TAPU.
Now it seems strange to me that your agent would not have been extra careful in checking that he/she was signing for your TAPU, that it was the correct apartment, that he would have it written down what he/she was signing for on your behalf. I find it hard to say but this seems like "negligence" and you have suffered because it.

Re: tapu/wrong address
He's right you know. This should have been picked up by the agent and if it was me, I'd be looking to them to rectify it free of charge.
