What tax do I need to pay ?
Hi,
Can you help please
I bought a new property in June 2005 as a holiday home . Are there any taxes I should have paid? If so how and who do I contact to find out how much I owe.
Thanks

Well the most obvious is the council tax. Even though you have a new build you should have register within the first month at the town hall. Then with a new build you do not pay the first year but after that twice per year usually May and November will depend on town hall. Failling to pay you will be heavily fined for not paying. You need to take a copy of your Tapu only ( well that is all I had to take)
Go to the top of the forum to the search part and enter "council taxes" you will find many posts on this matter.
Good luck.

I mentioned my tax bill on the forum and some thought it was hig but not sure. As to the passport I have been thinking about that since the subject came up I am unsure if I had to show my passport

Re: What tax do I need to pay ?
We only got a 1ytl fine each when we had not paid for a year so I think it is only a small fine.
There is a little bit about this (and other) taxes in the Land of Lights legal corner number 23

Re: What tax do I need to pay ?
Hello
you do not get heavily fined. All bills- There is insurance, council tax, water and electric and maybe site fees. We pay our council tax once a year( when we have a hol, never been heavily fined) or even fined at all and pay our site fees and elect in one go once a year. We was worried about bills to start but do not worry as even if you do get fined it will be peanuts.

Re: What tax do I need to pay ?
I have paid everything apart from council tax and am starting to worry, we are very tardy. My agent was a friend. Bur said finew were not that bad bad as I was not in a tourist area. He wil ' have a word'.
Now I am worried I am going to get landed with like 4 years worth of council tax. Starting to worry as I bought some land in datca as well so do I owe money on that.
I have a baby coming in October and now really worried I am going tobe given a huge tax bill. Had bought the house with the idea od letting my kids spend time in place where they would be able to act like children (unlike in the UK where they cannot be alloed outside)!!!!
Am I going to be bankrupt!!!
