Re: TLF fund gift to Yesim
Just to confirm that the money was handed over to this family who accepted it with dignity and grace. No fanfares or photographs, but be assured that all who donated have made a real difference to one family's life here in Turkey.
Every penny donated went to this worthwhile cause.
With Thanks
Veronica

Re: TLF fund gift to Yesim
Thank for making the donation on behalf of the TLF donors, and many thanks to all who donated.
I hope to start off the fund again soon under new management.

Re: TLF fund gift to Yesim
Does the TLF support for this family have to end with a one off donation? Unfortunately probably not a long-term commitment but the sort of cause which has touched a lot of people. Couldn't our energies go into helping her family make Yesim's short life more comfortable with some of the "luxuries" we all take for granted?

Re: TLF fund gift to Yesim
Totally agree Carolyn.
What do Phil Sue and Veronica think as they know the family well.
What about another TLF fund series of donations to this family by opening the procedure again?
We have nearly 5000 members and a fiver each from just say 200( 4% ) of us is a grand and a fiver is about the price of my No2 haircut or a couple of beers!!

Re: TLF fund gift to Yesim
I have given this a lot of thought and believe we need to keep this simple. No-one is asking for a trip to Disneyland or indeed anything at all. TLF has managed to do a good deed in a naughty world and the result for this family is immeasurable.
If we hear in the village that Yesmin has a desperate need which money could fullfill I will get back to you. Unfortunately we cannot buy good health.
Thank you for all your kind expressions and thoughts.
Veronica

I couldn'y agree more with the above. I dont want to get morbid, but in Uk we rely on doctors to give medication (expensive ) morphine based to take pain away in the later stages of a terminal illness. I do not know what the situation re medication is in Turkey. If it has to be funded by the family, they may very well need more money to pay for that alone. Sorry for making this even more sad than it is already. I keep thinking of my children at that age. Peter.

Re: TLF fund gift to Yesim
Well done Pete and Mags
Is it possible the donation line could be live again now to raise more?.
Perhaps Phil or Veronica could let us know about this.
