Re: Thinking of trying again......

We drove past Egirdir and stopped over at Beysehir on our way to Cappadocia - the views over both lakes were stunning. In Beysehir, we stayed in a hotel that overlooked the lake. You could easily be fooled into thinking you were by the sea as the lake was so vast. The locals were charming as we were a bit of a novelty in the area. Prices were fair too. The Isparta / Konya area is very much underestimated. In the UK you wouldn't be able to get stirred for tourists if we had such assets.

Thanks.. I was referring to the Kale that is next to Finike, at the end of that long sandy gulf beach where there is also a nearby local village of new Turkish name which has grown rapidly and enormously...

But Kale is famous for its incredible ancient ruins of anitiquity..Massive Lycian tombs and cave dwelllings (?)...and also shares a location with the purported birth place of St. Nicholas... (Father Christmas)... and so on both counts is a famous tourist destination... and remains in one of the best locations for unspoiled Turkish coast line between Kale, Kas, Kalkan and Patara... remote, not easily accesible except with several hours rive or by boat... and hopefully will stay that way forever...

Re: Thinking of trying again......

Demand is the town your are talking about, Turkish name is Myra, supposedly the birth place of St Nicholas or Santaclause. It's a lovely Turkish town, with a great weekly market. We used to go there to do our shopping when we had a place in Kas as its was soooo much cheaper.
