Question Best places to visit or live around Antalya?

Looking a Thomas cook website after member Sweetnighter's link I found lot more flights all year round to Antalya, which seem to be cheaper even though it's further away from UK.

What are the areas to explore from Antalya, say within an hours drive?

Re: Best places to visit or live around Antalya?

I loved walking around the Kaleici area, which is filled with old restored Ottoman houses that now serves as pensions, hotels, restaurants or souvenir shops. Many tourists stay here, but we were staying way off on the other side of town so just came here for a tour by ourselves which we enjoyed tremendously. The best thing for me was to discover the little back streets and see where they lead and what they have to offer. You always discover interesting things when you get lost, but somehow one always finds your way back to the main streets.

Re: Best places to visit or live around Antalya?

We are going today staying until Saturday, booked a hotel for 293tl for 5 nights in the old town of Antalya, will get the bus from Alanya which I think is 18tl each way so for 365tl for a 5 nights/6 days holiday is quite reasonable, food & drink will be extra which I think will be quite a bit more than 365tl. We have never been to Antalya before apart from the airport so hoping it will make a nice change and will look at places to visit when we are there. Will let you know when we get back.

When in Antalya visit the aquarium. It is very good and takes a while to go round. Mostly a tunnel with all types of fish swimming overhead and enjoyable tanks to see as well. From Kaleici it is a nice walk.

Re: Best places to visit or live around Antalya?

We have just come back from Antalya and loved it. Stayed in the old town, which has so much character, there is so much to see, old and new, visited the museum, which has a nice seating area in a court yard within the museum, you could easily spend a chunk of the day there. We hope to go back at some point, it's only 45 mins from TRNC, and cheap Pegasus flights, so we are happy bunnies, being able to get our Turkey fix there. Sue xx

The eastern border of Europe, for instance, is not well defined. The Caucasus states are sometimes considered part of Asia due to geography, and much of Russia and almost all of Turkey are geographically Asian. We proudly introduce our self as one of the best travel coach facilitators in the UK and Europe.
