Dithering is a political skill .
Decision making is full of risks and possible accountability .

The two just don't mix .

The runway expansion has been talked to death for years. Expansion was needed before, even more so with BREXIT on the horizon. Improving the Nations infrastructure will enhance the economy, all the talk of the UK holding its own in the World and yet when it comes right down to making decisions, what we end up with is yet another talking shop.

HS2 is another example of poor leadership and decision taking. The UK is supposed to be capable of making its own way in the World and yet cant even make a decision after years of consultations. The loss of air traffic will only result in stagnation instead of growth.

I would have thought demand to fly into places like Norwich would be fairly low and therefore not such a great business, great idea though.

Just move London then make the airport as large as you want. :-)

Re: Gatwick or Heathrow

Regional airports have it is said been shedding flights and routes hand over fist , this is also true of Gatwick as well in some cases.

I cannot believe that MRS May can announce that it will be Heathrow after her castigation of the previous Labour administration backing it's expansion.

She was unequivocal in her demands for it to be stopped.....

We will see , later.

Re: Gatwick or Heathrow

At last, at long, long last, the Government has brought to an end more than 50 years of dithering and finally fired the starting pistol on a new runway for the southeast of England.

That will be the overwhelming response from the majority of UK businesses. But now comes the hard partÖ

Heathrow Airport expansion: Now comes the hard part
