2018 Tourists

I know it's still early season but how's things looking like on the ground for those of you in Turkey. Are the early numbers looking better this season?

Re: 2018 Tourists

Yes, so far
Main beach was quite full the other day and this weekend we have Vegfest up at the Apollo temple (loads of stalls selling wares, not just fancy veg, but craft stalls) . We went last year , it was really good
Nearly all the bars are open for the season here , most doing meal deals

Didim council are blasting along with road resurfacing too , they have block paved loads of side roads/streets (ours included) and tarmaced (a good thickness too) some a roads and they are doing the main boulevard at the moment

Excellent Ted

Totally unscientific but I have never known as many friends neighbours etc to have opted for Turkey this year. Add to that flights from Belfast have almost trebled in capacity this year and certainly in this neck of the woods things are looking up for Turkey this year

Re: 2018 Tourists

I did read that tourism was up by quite alot in Turkey this year. Though I'm not sure if recent events in Syria will cause a blip. xx

Not sure its looking up for Turkey when the Belfast lot roll in. That link to the Belfast telegraph on another post showed some really dodgy goings on!

Tourism is definitely On The Up ... please read this local Turkish paper from February 2018 ... Turkey?s tourism sector makes strong start in 2018 as foreign arrivals rise
