Re: Kadikalesi

Been forever since I went there, but there was very little apart from houses, hotels and little shops selling big onion shaped things.
Has it developed ?

Re: Kadikalesi

There are a few big AI resorts there now, the village itself has seen little development but the new villa developments are creeping in.
They pump out hot water from underground in Kadi to feed the resort Hot Spas

Kadikalesi, is that "Castle of the Judge?"

Years ago I remember driving down a hill and there was a big rubbish tip above the village, does that sound right ?
Or was that Derekoy ?

Derekoy Martin, the road divides just past Derekoy at the tip, goes to the left, over and around the hill and drops down into Kadi through the old holiday resort of Club Armonia.

Re: Kadikalesi

Beach is good, swimming likewise but not a resort really. 3 or 4 small restaurants. We go a few times a year for a swim and a coffee and cake.

Area is now being swamped with development but easy dolmus access to Turgutreis and Gumusluk and onwards to Bodrum from either.

I,d be happy to spend a week there but two weeks would be a struggle

jimm will become famous soon enough
Re: Kadikalesi

We were there 2 weeks ago.
Very quiet at this time of year but it's one of the best places in summer.
There's now a boulevard by the sea all the way to Turgutreis. It's only a 20 minute walk. Some amazing resort hotels on the way. That stretch has the most top class hotels on the peninsula according to a native I met in Yalikavak.
The boat trips from Turgutreis also pick up from Kadekalesi as their first stop. It's about a 25 lira taxi trip to Gumusluk where there are countless restaurants.

Re: Kadikalesi

Nice beach not much there regards bars restaurants you would need to get the dolmus to Turgutries 4 lira or a taxi approximately 30 lira very cheap , you can walk along the beach side passing all the all inclusive hotels to Turgutries passing a few bars and restaurants on the way takes an hour steady pace don't worry nice place plenty near by we live in Gümüslük which is a small fishing village worth a visit also.
