Re: Easyjet

TUI has capitulated and will now offer refunds.

' Holiday firm TUI has now admitted to blunders over refunds for disappointed customers who have had their trips cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday (May 21) managing director, Andrew Flintham, sent an email to thousands of frustrated holidaymakers, headed: "We’re sorry."

Until now, holidaymakers have had to wait until they receive a "Refund Credit" note from TUI before they're able to call up and also request a cash refund.

Some customers have struggled to get through on the phone lines with some people still waiting for their money back on their holiday.

However, the holiday giant have confirmed they have now developed a new system where customers can manage cancelled and future bookings, and request a cash refund.

In the email, Mr Flintham writes: "It’s hard to believe that in a matter of just months, we've gone from taking our customers on holiday all around the world, to being forced to cancel holidays for nearly a million customers.

"It’s certainly been a learning curve for us, and I’ll be the first to admit we didn’t always get it right.

"I’d like to apologise for the frustration you may have felt. I’d like to assure you that we’re dedicated to doing everything we can to make things better.

"Following a lot of customer feedback, we’ve completed a thorough review of how we’re looking after you and what improvements we need to make. . . '

From what I read yes, but this article was related to UK law, not international.

Re: easyjet flights for sept2018

I had an Easyjet flight for 3rd June. They emailed me this, so I moved the flight to a more expensive one, just before Easter next year. I was a bit worried that Turkey might not of been included in Europe, but didn't have any problems changing the flight.

Hi Julie,

We’re getting in touch regarding your upcoming trip. We really hope to be able to fly you for it, but recognise that government travel restrictions and safety guidelines continue to evolve. As a result, we haven't cancelled your flight yet, but we do understand you might be thinking about whether or not to travel regardless.

Your booking falls within one of our peak periods, so as an exclusive offer, we’re giving you the opportunity to transfer your flight to anywhere across Europe, at any time, for free. This means that with maximum peace of mind you can transfer onto any of our school holiday, public holiday or peak flights without having to pay any fare difference.

If you feel unsure about committing to a specific flight right now, you can request a voucher for the full value of your flight. To thank you for choosing this option we’ll issue you with an additional 10 which you can use towards another future booking. Both vouchers will be valid for 12 months giving you plenty of time to plan.

Jack's is offering these for the next 2-3 days, all easyjet

This week free members missed deals to Australia at 623 return, flights to Canada at 171 return, fares to Cancun at 383 return, and more... Get all the flight deals
Hey JFC'ers, we've collated answers to your most common travel-related questions in this time of coronavirus. We're changing a few things up with deals too, only sending deals that work in the second half of the year onwards and focusing on carriers with flexible change policies. More detailed info here.

Fares to Iceland finally creeping down to where we like them again :-)

The bulk of included dates work in November, but London has some March trips in 50s return as well. Both months are prime-time for hot springs and for seeing the northern lights. A few long-weekend trips out there too if you're after a shorter adventure.

FYI, easyJet has an indefinite waiver for change fees for all new and existing bookings, we assume they'll be keeping this policy until travel is returning to normal.

Linsey got the option of changing her June 3rd out of Edinburgh to Bodrum but took the time to read the small print which was quite clear that if you accepted the replacement flight the new terms and conditions were that if the replacement flight was cancelled then you agree to no refund, she took the option of her money back

Oops, maybe I should of read the small print. Only paid 90 for the flight, so won't be a big loss

Re: Easyjet

Jet2 has delayed starting its flights until 1 July. It had said they would start mid June but now says the delay is inevitable.
