Re: No problems buying my property

I don't have a habitation certificate (as a piece of paper) but the correct box is ticked on the TAPU. Not sure if I should have said yes or no to the question.

Same here correct box is ticked but no certificate, are you supposed to have one in writing as well?

If you mean that the kat mülkiyeti box is ticked on your tapu then you have cracked it. You may not have seen the habitation certificate if your lawyer/builder/agent processed everything for you.

As long as it has been issued it is not particularly important to have a copy, unless you want one. When you come to sell the buyers lawyer will make all the necessary checks anyway. However, if you want a copy of the habitation certificate you will be able to get one from your local Belediye. There will probably be a nominal fee for the copy.

Re: No problems buying my property

Crashtester: Buying was a breeze for me. All the headaches came afterwards......nothing catastrophic but six years of nuisance. If I had come across this poll up to about a year or so after I bought I would have been first to vote. Lots of problems associated with buying don't become apparent for a long time afterwards.

Might be no harm to add a "how long since you bought" question.

I do plan on running many polls all related to same/similar subjects to get a detailed idea of buying patterns. Best I can hope for is a snap shot of how things are now and it's quite possible that some people who contribute to this poll may experience some difficulty in the future that would invalidate some or all of their claims here, we can never be 100% of anything especially as the polls system can be limited.

I will try to cover as much as possible with other polls, I've tried to cover as much as possible so far but I know there are some elements I've missed off that aint realised until the poll is posted.

Thanks, CT, for this response. I didn't participate in the other polls because I couldn't honestly say that mine were "major" problems. I don't know where you get the energy for all this research, but keep up the good work.
