Rose Leaves

I was hoping to make Rose Jam but went to the spice stalls on the market last week and no-one has any Rose leaves.

Can anyone tell me when I will be able to get these?
Is it a certain month?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Rose Leaves

The only recipe i have used for rose jam is with the petals and not the leaves! Only ever seen it made in the summer when roses are in bloom!

Re: Rose Leaves

My Turkish cookery book said 'Rose Leaves' I definatly think they mean 'Petals'
though!

I guess I will just have to wait until see Roses in bloom then...

Re: Rose Leaves

We buy this jam over here from the supermkt. very tasty, and has to be the petals as it smells and tastes like the smell of a rose petal.(start blooming late spring onwards).
