Gift from a neighbour

My neighbours mother is paying a visit and sent us round a treat, but have no idea what it is, certainly nothing comparable in England.

Shaped like a cigar, filled with some nut mixture. The outer coating is very thick rubberised gelatine type stuff. We think that the outer coat may be made from grapes??? The filling is very tasty but the outer coating is yuk.

Anyone got any ideas as the neighbour could not even give us a name.

i cant remember the name but the outer is made from melon or marrow..as you say its like thick rubber....its very popular in Hatay.
i dont like it either..in Antakya there's many shops selling loads of stuff like this with different varieties...i suppose its healthy!
