Hot spicey red 'paste' served as meze

Hiya All,

Have been looking through various recipe sites and locations but as I don't know what it is called it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.......in the dark!!!!!!!!!

The red 'paste' served with meze and often with a cool yoghurt to accompany it, needed to counteract the fire like feelings!!!!!

Could someone tell me what the red paste is called please???????

Or better still, do you have a recipe for it??

Father in law loves the stuff and was going to have a go at making some, if only I knew how.

Re: Hot spicey red 'paste' served as meze

It sounds like Ezme, really easy to make.......

Tomatoes, peeled and chopped
Cucumber same
spring onion
salt
paprika and tomatoe salca to taste
sometimes I put in a little Nar Eksiri and a scotch bonnet/chiili pepper.

Hope this helps.

Hi Andrew and Mary, its on sale in Tansas and the name is on the label. Perhaps someone who is there at the moment can pop in and let you know. It is gorgeous.
