Smile Your favourite Turkish food?

What's your favourite Turkish food?
I like lots - well I like food in general actually, but I think my fave is icli kofte. These are small sausage shaped cous cous shells which are filled with meat, spices, onions and pistachios, then deep fried. Mmmmmmmmmm, very fattening, but lovely.
My Mother-in-law makes them best - I have tried but they aren't the easiest things in the world to master! Nevermind, will just have to concentrate on eating them!
So whats your fave?

Jill Tiryaki.

Re: Your favourite Turkish food?

I love all Turkish Food, but Manti is still one of my favourites. Mince, onion, spices made into pasta shape balls within a outer flour base, boiled, and served either cold or hot with youghurt and topped with an oily sauce made from olive oil, peppers, mint and butter. Absolutely delicious. Very filling and best to have as an appetiser or starter.

Hi Lindy, I had a couple of lamacun's from Mangal Restaurant in Daltson/Kingsland high road in London on Saturday. Better than any I have had from Turkey!! Only 1 and just wonderful.

As for the sea-bass (levrek), I woudn't call this a Turkish dish !!! but I agree, grilled on a barbecue its absolutley delicious ... Although I think the sea-bream (cupra) is even better.
