You can buy Bisto beef gravy granules in Kipa & Metro. I use Kaşar peynir for my lasagne sauce, and it works fine. Hope this helps.

Re: a few food querıes!

try the EDIRNE cheese--this is quite a soft strong cheese --i get mine off the cheese van on the market--ask them and they will let you have a little taste of any of the cheeses first here in kusadasi its about 10lira per kilo--also in a half fat version. The turks use a cheese called cokelek for cooking and putting in yufka and borek--pronounced chookalek you will see it in great bowls in cheese shops and the market cheese van it looks like pale scrambled eggs or a dry cottage cheese--i like it in omlettes--its quite cheap too being around 5lira per kilo and you can buy it with or without salt for those with health issues. If you do a google on cokelek it will tell you all about it.

In Kippa gravy granules are about 8 or 9 lira for a tub which you can get for about 70p in the UK!!!

These are one of the items I bring back after my UK visits, along with 20 kg of other stuff!!!

It is, and always will be more expensive for imported foods/products here - Likewise I try to stock on pantry essentials on the occasional visit back to the UK - But sometimes you do come unstuck and have to fork out that little bit extra for luxuries here. Mine is usually Colemans Horseradish! I tend to make my own gravies, mint sauce, mariť rose sauce now, as well as many other things but sometimes you just cannot get the ingredients here for certain things so you do have to compromise a little : )

Re: a few food querıes!

I bring gravy granules from the UK - the white Mc Dougalls ones are good - thickening granules - and have multi purposes. Cheese - I'd say the kasir too. Otherwise the pork shops often sell english cheeses as well as sauces, gravies and stuff.

Re: a few food querıes!

..for cheese ,yes Kasir is ok ..tastes like a mild cheddar ..i prefer Tulum ..thats more like a mature cheddar..granules you can buy in the pork shops or a tespos if you have one ..they do most uk foods ..but at a price...
