What Type Of Fruit Is This?

We've just got back from 12 days at our apartment and just before we left last night our Turkish neighbour brought us some fruit which she had picked - can anyone one tell me what they are please from the picture below. The are gooseberry size, smooth skinned and quite hard. I believe that they may be quite tart and should be stewed with plenty of sugar - a bit like gooseberries.

Does anyone have a suitable recipe please?

They are Eric's (unripe plums) just eat them as they are, a bit of an aquired taste, my old man loves them.

Re: WhatType Of Fruit Is This?

You eat them with salt and a glass of Raki. I prefer them later in the summer when they're purple!
