Hello, I need help - I am trying to join a Turkish Class in Northamptonshire - does anyone know where I might be able to find one?

I had a quick look on the web but drew a blank. I think your going to struggle to find anything local as there is not much demand in your area. Have you considered an on-line language course?

Oneof my work colleagues said there was one a while back in Newport Pagnell, I'll see if i can get any more info.

If you can't find one, you might consider approaching your local Council (whichever body arranges Evening Classes) and ask them to set one up. If they think there is sufficient interest they will do that and find a teacher.

The other alternative may be to find the local Turkish Community group - again through the Council or the Police - and find an individual who will give you some practice rather than formal lessons.

Try a bit of lateral thinking.

There are a few Turkish Restaurants and no end of kebab shops in Northants. Go and have a chat and you might find someone willing to help you with your Turkish in return for help with their English.

(BTW I used to live in Duston and also in Walgrave )

Thanks for all your help and good ideas. I have a local kebab shop but Im too scared to ask .... I will have to try to pluck up some courage cos it doesnt look like Im going to have any joy with a course nearby - well for this year at least. Ive got the name of the language coordinater for the adult education in this area and I will write to her - hopefully there might be one up and running for next year. There are loads of other languages on offer - also Russian and Japanese, its really annoying.
