Power of attorney

Does anyone know what powers actually transfer with power of attorney?

Does power of attorney allow the following:
the right to vote at complex meeting without a proxy form?
the same rights as the owner of the apartment?
the right to all information about the apartment?

How much does a power of attorney (POW) cost to set up?

How long does a POW last?

Is it cheaper to set up a POW or add a persons name to the TAPU and pay the capital gains?

Re: Power of attorney

It is way cheaper to set up a POA than to register a new name on Tapu.
Costs around 250 lira.
You can put exactly what powers you want to transfer, to ensure this you need an excellent translator.
Never give POA over your bank account and when buying a property specify that the Tapu and utilities are registered in your name only.
They normally last 2 years but you can specify any time period.
Before you do it think long and hard about what you want it to do, when it is done sit back and relax.

Re: Power of attorney

I gave power of attorney to my avokat for representing me in court and recieving any money due to me after court case. This was none at the notory with a translator and cost 160 lira.

Then a contract between myself and the avokat as to how much money he takes at the end of the case, which was also done with translator at the notary.

To cancel a power of attorney costs about the same as taking one out and has to be done with translator at the notary.

Re: Power of attorney

Before you give a POA I suggest typing in the search engine on this forum and read some of the stories.

Re: Power of attorney

As said before the powers you give in a power of attorney can be as wide or as limited as you want then to be. Decide exactly what you want it to do and make it accordingly. I agree do not give your poa to anyone over your bank account. A Power of attorney lasts until you cancel it unless you specify in it that it should last for a specific period of time.

Tosmur. If you POA says that they can act on your behalf then yes but you do not need to give/have a POA in order to use a proxy at a site meeting. As has been said if you want to set up a POA be very specific about what power you are giving and always put in a date when it becomes null and void as there is no time limit in law.
