Military Check

Hello

We have been advised by our solicitor that we have to pay for a military check again. The manager at the deeds office, according to our solicitor, has requested this because they were first checked 2 years ago and the military areas may have changed? Can ayone advise if this is correct.

Re: Military Check

Hi Ceri & Chris

There is usually a cut-off time when your Military Clearance is no long valid. The time limit may differ from area to area.

Why have you not be able to receive your Tapu if you applied for MC 2 years ago?

Re: Military Check

Hi Alison
Very long story. Paid amount in full for apartment including military checks and title deeds to agents Turkish Homes who did not pass on to owner. We were only aware of this when after 4 years Turkish homes ceased trading and we were still trying to get deeds they kept fobbing us off. Owner is stating that he requires ther final 20% of total which indicates that he has received money from Turkish Homes but solicitor is questioning that even this amount may not have been passed on. Because of language barrier, distance and because we cannot afford to travel to do face to as we have to find this money. We did find this forum and thought we would put out an appeal for anyone knowing whereabouts of owner of Turkish Homes as solicitor advised us to chase her as she has returned to England but we cannot track her.

Re: Military Check

Ceri and Chris,
Can you be a little more specific about the name of the agency. Here in Didim/Altinkum the words "Turkish Homes" is used by a number of Agents. For example; "My Turkish Home", "Turkish Homes Agency". I am sure there are more.
It may help to gather more information, if members know exactly which one you are trying to make contact with.

Mary.

Re: Military Check

So... Can anyone confirm whether there is a cut off period in Didim or not?

Re: Military Check

As far as i have been told MCs are valid for 18 months (please correct if i am wrong).
If the TAPU is not issued within that time, you have to apply again.
