Court papers

I was informed by the court in Alanya that they will be sending me court papers, which they said i have to have officially translated, signed and returned to the court so that i understand what will be happening.

They said i was to take them to the British consulate in uk....now there is no British consulate in uk. So i am thinking its The British commonwealth office who i have emailed and waiting a reply.

I am hoping there will be some instructions of what they want me to do with these papers when they arrive.

Has anyone else who has had a court case in Turkey had to do this.

Lynda

Re: Court papers

I think i have found the answer after searching internet for hours. I take papers to Turkish British Chamber of Commerce & Industry, they read them to me in English, i sign and they send back to the Turkish court.

Now i just waiting for papers to arrive...how many months i am thinking....hope i am surrprised.

Re: Court papers

hi Linda i cant undesrstand why things are taking so long for you..i know a couple of people in Alanya who have recently had cases heard and all completed within a few months.the court has a translator there and they should have sorted this out before now.
İ know your case is complicated but still they are dragging it out.

Re: Court papers

I know Shirley it seems to be taking forever but i only starting proceedings last October. The hearing last week was just for gaining evidence. Only now am i going ahead with the case in the high court.

I didn't intend on being in Alanya last week...went for a quicky...so the court were not expecting me and also i was not summond to attend. For 2 hours they tried to get a translater but they were all busy in other courts.

I am hoping that once they have all papers back things start happening quite quickly.

Re: Court papers

best of luck to you linda..i know you have had a hard time getting things to this point..its time it was sorted for you.
the Alanya court is usually quick to deal with things once the relevant papers are all in place...so hopefully before this year is out you can have some peace of mind xx
