Amnesty and visa application

Ive overstayed my visa and recently found out there is an amnesty for foreigners going on right now that allows people who have overstayed their visa to leave and only be banned for 3 months. I know that if you overstay your visa and want to return to Turkey you have to apply for a visa through the embassy. If I leave during the amnesty, do you think Id have to apply for a new visa through the embassy or could I apply for a visa using the new e-visa method? Would the fact that I left during an amnesty cancel everything out and allow me to apply for a visa the same way as someone who hadnt overstayed would apply? I know its hard to say for sure what would happen, but does anyone have an idea?

Re: Amnesty and visa application

What you can do is try the new visa on line system ,because once you have filled it in it tells you whether your application is successful or not . you only pay after you get that message. So its a good way of finding out without actually paying any thing . And you can do that up to 3 months before you want to get the visa.If it says by our application is not successful ,then you know you have a problem .

How long have you overstayed as you have to pay a fine as well?

One thing is for sure:
If you don't take advantage of the amnesty it will cost you money and you will face no less restrictions regarding return.

You do still have to pay. The amnesty shortens the length of time you're banned from returning to Turkey.

Oh, I'm definitely taking advantage of it. I was mainly just wondering which visa application method I would need to use when I return

Ah Well ,in that case it don't seem much of a amnesty if you still gotta shell out money ?

Re: Amnesty and visa application

Strange nothing has been made public of this subject from either the Turkish Immigration office or the British Embassy in Ankara.
