Advance Notification Of AGM Meetings?

We have just been given 24 hours notice to say our AGM is tomorrow. There are quite a few of us who can not attend due to the fact we were only given 24 hours notice . If they get the correct quorum and the meeting goes ahead can we say that the meeting is null and void as we weren't given the correct advance notification of the date of when the meeting would be held. If I am right I think everyone should be notified about 14 days before.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Advance Notification Of AGM Meetings?

As far as we know, 14 days minimum before the meeting is the legal requirement.

Getting it voided could be difficult and most likely would be a court case to do so.

They need to give 7 days notice in writing you should also be given an opportunity to give someone power of attorney to act on your behalf.you have not said who as called the meeting, was it the developer or do you have committee independent of the Builder.
If I was you I would place on record in writing that you object .

Re: Advance Notification Of AGM Meetings?

Sent you pm with link to Condominium law written in English.

you have to be given written notice at least 15 days prior to the meeting, if the meeting does not have sufficient attendees another meeting must be held.

ARTICLE 29. – The meeting of condominium owners shall be held at the time indicated in the management plan and at least one a year. If no time is indicated, it shall be held during the first month of each calendar year. ( Inserted sentence: 14/11/2007-5711/ art 14) As per the multiple buildings, the boards shall meet at the times specified in the management plans but at
least once in two years, or in the first month of second calendar year if such time has not been specified in management plan.
When there is an important motive, the meeting of condominium owners may be called at any time, by the manager or the controller or one third of the condominium owners, by a notice sent by registered mail or signed by all condominium owners, at least fifteen days prior to the date specified for the meeting, by indicating the reasons thereof.
The first notice shall also indicate the place and date of the second meeting if there is no quorum at the first meeting. (Inserted sentence: 14/11/2007-5711/ art 14) The time between first and second meetings cannot be less than seven days.

Akbukowl its a Sitesi meeting ( nothing to do with builders) are AGM should be end of May each year . This year the site manager for some reason unknown to us left it till the 2nd week in June , but only gave us two days notice and they couldn't get the quorum so it couldn't go ahead. Now we have been informed in writing today that the meeting is tomorrow!

Who's the site manager? How did he/she get the job? I would be worried that this as been planned to allow a small group change things without your involvement,if you have solicitor get them to Wright an objection to the procedure being out of order or at least do it yourself.
Is the maintenance contract up for renewal? Will the site fees be set at this meeting?
Beware of people voting themselves long term contracts.
