Turkish Condominium Law

I am reliably informed that there are 2 textbooks which fully lay out Turkish Condominium Law . Which book is relevant to one's situation is dependent on the number of "parcels " in your condo set up . Is anyone aware of these books and where they can be sourced ?

Re: Turkish Condominium Law

There is only one Law - The Condominium Law and an English translation is readily available on line. Are you possibly confusing with what it says in the Law that it is only applicable on a site with 8 or more( or is it more than 8) units.

Chinook - Perhaps I didnt word my post as well as I could have. I can recite the English version of Law 634 and 5711 backwards lol - I have had cause to refer to it so often in the past.

What I was referring to were 2 books - which essentially are the "bibles" for site manager/Baskan role. These were shown to me by one of the better accountants I met and unfortunately I didnt take down the details. We had been worried at the time of meeting this professional that some of the stunts that were being pulled on our site were illegal and he had asked how many "parcels" were mentioned in the site management plan. Depending on whether the plan stated 1 or more than 1 - this dictated which book was relevant to our site. The books are very much a "good practice" legal guide as to the ins and outs of running a condo but they are only available in Turkish .

Re: Turkish Condominium Law

Hi Widi

I have only seen those books from afar....our Site Solicitor would refer to it during AGM's......they appear to give a more logical explanation that the brief term of reference or context......this is how I have seen it used when we would debating site issues.

I would imagine they are available from the equivalent version of HMSO....and most likely only in Turkish.

I have also heard reference to a site or complex being referred to as consisting of one or more parcels of land......I suggest you contact Elinor who may be able to advise you further.

Re: Turkish Condominium Law

We are on a site which is composed of two parcels of land. One has 36 properties on it and ours has 8 properties on it .When one of our immediate neighbours wanted to extend he had to get written agreements from each of the other 7 on the parcel to go with his planning application, even though he had site agreement.

There are definite differences in rules/law depending on the number of parcels stated in a management plan and for the life of me I cannot recall how or where these differences kick in. In fact I seem to recall that Law 634 applies to complexes with 1 parcel whilst Law 634 + another applies to complexes with 2 or more parcels . I will contact the professional accountant who originally told me about this and get more details.

Would be interested to know more about the differences. If anyone can shed any light on them.

Re: Turkish Condominium Law

Could anyone give me a link to a website I can find an up to date version of The Turkish Condominium Law please? I've had a hard copy for the last 5 years, and would like to know if there are any changes. I'm told there is a recent change relating to installation of cctv cameras on site?
